Rear View Mirror

in the new Chrysler LHS (i think thats the name)

it has a cool thing on the rear view mirror so that at night other cars’ headlights appear to be green
how do they do that? is it some kind of coating on the mirror?

Gentex Electrochromic Automatic Dimming Mirrors

“Gentex uses its proprietary, solution-phase electrochromic technology. We sandwich an electrochromic gel between two pieces of glass, each of which has been treated with a transparent, electrically conductive coating, and one with a reflector.”

I have an LHS and I love the car but I would prefer a conventional day/night mirror. They react to the intensity of the lights behind you and if it is dark behind you and a car suddenly pulls in behind you it is blinding for a few seconds till the mirror adjusts.

wow, this is really cool how it works.
thanks for posting!
