I have of late, for lack of any other on demand content of interest found myself watching Animal Planets Whale Wars.
They regularly hand hurl small bottles of butyric acid ( pretty harmless fairly nasty smelling stuff) and packs of cellulose powder which apparently makes things very slippery.
Not here to ask about their politics or the legality of what they do, Just a curiosity in that what other more effective ways could they torment other ships in a generally unpleasant but not truly dangerous fashion or other ways to screw with target ships by chemical or physical means.
My only thoughts mainly involve delivery systems, like small catapults to get a little more range while still being low velocity to minimize potential injuries on the target ships.
Not a fan of SS, but a pneumatic “t-shirt cannon” seems like it would be a logical delivery system for the butyric acid.
The ideal tool for them IMO would be some sort of sonic or chemical “whale repellant” device. That way they could ensure that whalers couldn’t make a catch.
