So, my wife’s boss is having a going-away party, and one of her favorite things is these Pillsbury Simply Chocolate Chip cookies.
Anyhow, my wife wants to make a batch for her going away party, except that, for whatever reason, she either doesn’t want or can’t have chocolate when that’s going on (I think maybe she gave it up for Lent?). Anyhow, I am just wondering if anybody can give me some pointers on how to make cookie dough that approximates the Pillsbury Simply stuff in taste, so I can make it sans chocolate chips.
Cause Plan B is to buy the dough, and methodically pick out all of the chips from it.
The Simply cookies are just made without the usual preservatives, so I can’t imagine it’s all that different from the basic recipe for tollhouse cookies. Though sans chocolate chips in this case.
I’ll warn you though, I made chocolate chipless cookies for someone who thought they’d be good, and he didn’t like them nearly as much as he anticipated. Apparently the chocolate masks some of the taste of the brown sugar.
Yep. The regular recipe on the back of Nestle chips is all you need. You could still add nuts, or experiment with carob chips, but maybe that’s too close to cheating.
