Does anyone know of any reasonable shippers from the U.S. to the U.K. I am gifting someone and English Longbow and it looks like shipping is over $200.00. Not in a hurry for it to get there.
A long bow? As in the weapon?
Yes, but they are not dangerous until strung up, loaded and drawn. Very popular in the U.K.
I do shipping from the US to the UK, and I punched an estimated package (20 lbs, 72"x12"x12") into FedEx’s site to get an estimate for International Economy. It came out to $113. Still very pricy, but better than what you’re getting.
I got the same thing when I punched it in but when I went to ship it was more than double that. Maybe I should go directly to Fed x. instead of an outlet.
I agree that NOT using a Mailboxes Etc can save money, in my experience. Have you tried just the good ol’ USPS? I occasionally ship gifts to Europe, and have most often found that going to the local post office, instead of FedEx or UPS, often saves me a little money. But in general, I think sending packages to Europe is a ridiculously costly affair.
Too big for USPS, I will try going directly to a Fed x out let today and see what they come up with. I checked out DHL and they were also double what I had estimated on my computer.,
