Rec me a non-burning mouthwash?

Now, I love oral hygiene as much as the next girl, but recently I’ve been approaching the task of using mouthwash with considerable dread. Reason: it burnssssssss us, precious, yes, it does. Can anyone rec me a mouthwash that doesn’t make my mouth feel like Mrs. O’Leary’s barn?

I just tried this stuff. It’s non-alcoholic, and the burn is minimal. Well, compared to Listerine anyway.

Check out ‘ACT’. I think it comes in both non-alcoholic and alcohol forms, but neither one is particularly bitey, at least to me. And it comes in spearmint, which I like a lot. I can’t remember the other flavors, but it’s good stuff.

You could try Crest’s alcohol free brand. Only problems with it (IMO) are (1) that it tastes like pink bubblegum, and (2) it actually bubbles up like soap. When I try gargling with it honest-to-god bubbles come out of my mouth, like in a slapstick comedy when someone eats soap.

I don’t get the new Crest pro-health rinse. What does it do that is so special?

Biotene is a mouthwash made of 4 antibiotics, and it doesn’t burn at all. You can get it at walmart/target/kmart.

Biotene and Tom’s of Maine are both good, non-burning mouthwashes.

There’s also one called something like J/A/S/O/N (sp?). While it doesn’t burn it tastes absolutely revolting.

The burning sensation means it’s working.

I use Tom’s of Maine, and even that gives me the burning/tingling nasty taste. It’s got to have something to do with the fluoride, which unfortunately for me is what I need.
