Recasting "Police Squad!"

I always hoped for at least one more of the Police Squad movies, so they could make some exceptionally tasteless remarks about how Nordberg couldn’t be there because he was undercover in prison looking for his ex-wife’s murderer.

What I didn’t like about the movies, aside from the double murderer, is that they turned Drebbin into a Clouseau-esque clutz. The series took place in a very literal world and I would hope any remake would go that route instead.

Cigarette?

Yes, I know.

Sounds good. He’s played the A-Team’s Hannibal Smith, so he could do a comedic-type TV character.

And there was his appearance on Life’s Too Short

Drebbin=Alec Baldwin.

Sean Penn could be interesting.

Dave Chappellle as Nordberg.

I’m going to vote for Charlie Sheen for the Drebbin part. He’s been doing this kind of role forever.

How about Mark Metcalf?

Let’s say Charlie Sheen gets the part. Then what?

R. Lee Ermey.

Before 30 Rock, I’d have disagreed with you. But now I think he could pull it off. Maybe.

I’d try to get some older actors famous for playing officers to portray senior staff. Ron Glass in a tailored suit as an inspector, for example.

It’s a drag that such perfect comedy comes with an “ugh” every time OJ’s on the screen.

“You got a little smudge of something on your badge, there, Inspector.”

Weird Al Yankovic also needs to appear in it.
