Last Tuesday, I ordered 3 CDs off of Public Radio Music Source which funds NPR with every purchase. I bought 2 Toad The Wet Sprocket CDs: PS, their Greatest Hits album, and Coil, which was the replacement for mine, which was scratched. I also got Barenaked Ladies’ Stunt, which is great. They have every piece of music currently in print at that site, not just ones playing on NPR. I highly recommend that you get your music from them if you like supporting NPR.

“All right. Have it your own way. Road to hell paved with unbought stuffed dogs. Not my fault.”

Oh I forgot another thing I bought. I bought a cd from CDNow by Basement Jaxx (British house music DJ’s) titled “Remedy”. I really think it’s good (it is NOT like most trashy euro-dance). I’ve heard one of their songs on the radio before.

It’s worth the risk of burning, to have a second chance…

The show “Stomp” was coming to Reno, so I ordered tickets on line. I ordered early and got front row seats. That went so well that I just ordered tickets to “Annie”.

I bought two t-shirts off e-bay, which is risky, as I am a tall person, and one of the shirts is a small. But I can always sell it back to someone. However, where else am I gonna find a Jem and the Holograms t-shirt, and a Blondie baseball shirt? (planning on rhinestoning the Blondie one, and LIVING in it…)

Recently online I have purchased:

Concert Tickets from TicketBastard (a Morrissey Concert)
A Morcheeba cd from Amazon

If I buy books or CD’s or any “adult” items I usually shop online.

You always use violence. I should’ve ordered glutinous rice chicken.

I bought a copy of Manhattan from BlowoutVideo.com, which was only $13.00 including shipping. This is not to be confused with VideoBlowout.com, which is evidently some sort of porn site.

WOOOHOOO! Good call, Sandgirl. I just renewed my membership. Within the last 2 weeks, I’ve also ordered new sheets and towels from Land’s End, and a LOT of books from Amazon. Oh, and passes for the Holocaust Museum in DC.

And thanks to Auntie Pam for alerting me. Guess I’ll be sending in an order to CDNow…

And we all know you cannot obtain clones of GQ moderators from porn sites!

I have to give B&N credit. I placed my order Friday night and received it Monday afternoon. They even retroactively gave me credit for an AOL coupon on Saturday. PS Eve - Nice picture on your dust cover. You’re much better looking than Joel Achenbach or Harry Turtledove.

I’ve found Amazon a good place to root around for out of print books.
Andy’s Garage Sale is kinda like a flea market of the web. It’s run by Fingerhut (altogether: eeeeeuuuuuuuu!) But it really must feature end runs and closeouts. You either get something at a good price or you get a postcard that it’s out, gone, kaput, sorry.

Forgot to mention it before, but in the last year and a half or so, I’ve probably spent about $1000 through http://www.bibliofind.com which is easily my favorite book shopping place on the net. Type in the name of the used book you want, select if first edition or signed copies matter to you, and it combs through a database of independant used book stores to find it. I like it much better than Amazon’s used book search (which usually took ages and yielded middling results). My entire signed 1st edition Sara Teasdale collection is through Bibliofind.
