Recipes for Crock Pot Little Dipper?

I got a new 6 quart Crock Pot for Christmas. I love using Crock Pots, and a couple of months ago I broke the removable stoneware insert that I also use as a casserole dish. I just took my new one out of the box and put in a big chuck roast with potatoes, carrots, onions, and (what will eventually become) mushroom gravy. I discovered this cutesy Little Dipper inside the package, and I’m itching to use it.

The recipe booklet that came with it has lots of recipes for the big Crock Pot, but I already have lots of them. I want to put something in that little tiny one, dang it! Do any of you have and use one? What do I do with it?

Vas ist das “little dipper?”

I have a three-quart crock pot which I often use to make stew, because it’s simple and requires no skill or supervision.

Recipe: Get crock pot. Add one pound diced stew meat (or even hamburger). Add six bouillon cubes. Add a couple diced carrots. Add a couple diced celery sticks. Add four or five diced potatoes. Add a diced onion. Add a can of mixed veggies of some sort, or a can of corn.

Add water until the water level is just over the top of all the diced stuff. Add one or two packets of brown gravy mix, the powdered kind. Add about a teaspoon of salt.

Activate crock pot. Wander off somewhere and do something else.

In four to six hours, you will have a fine beef stew with delicious brown stew stock.

In ten hours, it will be even better.

Thanks, **Wang]/b], but I was really looking for recipes for the little miniature Crock Pot that came free with my full-size one. I use my larger one for roasts, stews, Swiss steak, etc. and have lots of recipes for it. The Little Dipper is tiny, and apparently is to be used for hot dips, sauces, etc.

I use my little one for cheese dip … made with Rotel tomatoes and Velveeta. If you don’t have that recipie, e-mail me, I’ll send it to ya. I also keep things warm in it at buffet time: it fits on the table better than The Big Cahuna.

It’s also handy for simmering potpourri (sp?). Especially nice during parties.

Thanks, NinetyWt. I do love me some Ro-Tel dip. I will try that.

BTW, is your idea of “Garden Spot of the South” the same as mine?

hee hee probably not! I am considerably farther below the Mason-Dixon line than you are. However I must concede the fact that any spot within the South might qualify.
