Recoating Non-stick Pans

Does anyone know how to go about, if it is even possible, recoating non-stick pans? I have a perfectly good frying pan, except the coating is worn to the point of uselessness.

I am aware of sprays that exist, but I don’t trust them. I am thinking of a professional service, perhaps, or a kit that is more reliable than the sprays.

Thanks!

frying pans are like 20 bucks…break down and buy a new one or get a cast iron skillet or something they last forever

Pull out the warranty and see what it says. Or send the pan back to the manufacturer, tell them you think it’s the best pan in the world, and ask them to recoat it. Heck, they might send you a new one. But buying new pans is one of life’s little pleasures, like picking slugs off the tomatoes and unclogging the toilet.

Do a Google search for “teflon pan re-coating” or similar keywords - I saw a few companies that does re-coating. Here is one example. Also the Master has an article on how non-stick coatings are created:

It doesn’t sound like a process you can do at home by buying a kit.

Hmm…
