Bedrock Anthem - love the lyrics!
Am I missing something that we’ve gotten this far in the thread with no mention of “Dare to be Stupid”?
“Star Wars Cantina” song parody by Mark Jonathan Davis? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYMlad4e3Q4
I was thinking the same thing.
No mention of “Hardware Store” yet? That song was made for smart, quirky kids! Pretty energetic for waking up, too!
How about the white stuff in the middle of an Oreo?
Once you run out of Weird Al, you may want to try the music of Parry Gripp. He has upbeat kid-friendly music like “It’s Raining Tacos” and “Pancake Robot” that are big hits for the kids in my house.
It’s boppy and annoying, but not as dreadful as some alternatives, when the kids say “Alexa, shuffle Parry Gripp.”
More on past Weird Al, how about some classic Ray Stevens? Mississippi Squirrel Revival especially comes to mind.
I can still remember that song by heart …grandma taped it for us ……
my nephew found out a 10 hour loop of raining tacos …… there’s this Minecraft style do it your self game maker/player site called ROBLOX and the game my nephew played had it running and someone posted the link…
Has Weird Al ever produced anything that *wasn’*t 8-year-old friendly?
ISTR a recent song having an oblique reference to sex that an 8yo isn’t going to get.* That and an oblique pot reference in one song or another.
*ETA: Remembered it! It was in “Word Crimes,” he references a “cunning linguist.”
The aforementioned Melanie (stalking, suicide, suggestion that someone else commit suicide) and Those Were the Good Old Days (serial killer.) Also, I’d Rather Stick My Hand in a Blender.
(ETA* Christmas at Ground Zero* isn’t especially cheerful, either.)
(And the title of that is actually, I see, One More Minute.)
And now I’m seeing that that line is nowhere in the song. Now I’m wondering where I heard the phrase “I’d rather stick my hand in a blender” to the tune of The Great Pretender.
Any thoughts to exposing him to Tom Lehrer?
Here’s a pleasant one by Michael “Bluer Than Blue” Johnson. Gee, I’m Glad I Worried About That.
Did anyone mention Lasagna? It’s pretty good.
It’s far cheerier than The Night Santa Went Crazy (Extra Gory Version)
