Recommend a computer calendar

Something flexible that lets you alarm scheduled events.

Free or cheap.

Don’t like Google Calendar.

Do you want a web-based app, or something to install on your computer.

If the latter, you might give Sunbird a try. It’s from Mozilla, the same people who do Firefox and Thunderbird.

Darn.

“An error occurred” in the installation and “the Calendar isn’t available.”

Thank you for trying to help me, mhendo.

(I tried to install the Windows version.)

That’s odd, you might want to try again. I just saved the file, opened and install it to Windows English OK.

Hmm… if you use Firefox there is an extension I use called ReminderFox…

Might not be what you’re looking for but it’s free and useful…

Another one is 024H lucky reminder… trial version is free… you get a pop-up once in a while but that’s it (asking to upgrade)
Note: this is a regular program

I will.

Tried again and got the same error message.

I’ll try again Wednesday or so when my Dell comes out of the shop.

Using my laptop connected to my brand new (today! ) 22" monitor,
which could be a problem, perhaps.

Rainlendar is pretty cool. It sits on your desktop, so you always have a good overview, is very lightweight in terms of system resources and highly customizable.

I was just coming here to recommend this, so…seconded. I actually use Outlook Calendar, simply because there’s a utility that lets me autosync it with Google Calendar so I have all my contacts and appointments available anywhere there’s internet, but I used Rainlendar for a while and was happy with it.

I just read on the site that Rainlendar pro can sync with both Outlook and Google Calendar.
Haven’t tried either myself, though.

Rainlendar user here too. It keeps a calendar and to-do list on the right-hand side of your desktop, and it’s easy to add stuff like recurring events. Also puts a little icon down next to your clock with the day of the month, which I never seem to know.

Essential Pim It’s a free aplication that manages your contacts, calendar and to do list.
