I’m putting together a bunch of PowerPoint slides comprising the words for some Christmas Carols… I want to use a font that:
-Is easy to read (so not too curly or fancy)
-Is slightly decorative (so not as clinically precise as Arial or Times New Roman)
-Makes good use of vertical space; the closed, loopy bits of the font (whatever they’re called) need to be fairly large - so not one of those fonts where everything looks like an absurdly tall lower case k
-Is not too wide (I need to be able to fit four to six lines of verse nicely on a landscape-oriented page)
I’ve always liked Myriad Pro for general usage such as this. FWIW, this is the typeface Apple uses in their current branding. Has a nice modern and light feel to it, and looks good at a variety of sizes.
I like Myriad pro, too, but many people don’t have it installed (it comes with the adobe suite, though). How about Trebuchet? It’s a standard install in windows and I like the “g”.
Here’s trebuchet: the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
