Recommend a French-language book-review publication

In my native English (version américaine) I enjoy magazines such as the New York Review of Books, which contain review essays that are (1) interesting in themselves and (2) useful for finding interesting nonfiction books to read.

I’d like to have a similar resource in French. Anyone know of one? Canadian, French, Swiss, whatever, in print or online: if it’s in French and reviews books intelligently, I’m interested.

I don’t read it, but I know my father-in-law often gets his reading suggestions out of La Presse. I’m pretty sure it skews to Québecois books, but it likely covers other francophone books as well.
