Recommend a good IRC client for Windows XP.

“Good” means stable, configurable, scriptable, and with the ability to store a number of custom server lists, default channels, and usernames/passwords for nick bots; useful but minimal GUI, and it should be alive and regularly updated.

Thanks!

I use mIRC. It has all the features you mention, and then some.

Not an mIRC fan, but thanks. xircon was my client of choice back when I used IRC regularly, but that’s unsupported now and I don’t know anything about the modern clients other than the standard mIRC/Pirch etc., which don’t interest me.

Do you IM at all? Trillian has a fine IRC client built in, along with AOL, MSN, Yahoo and ICQ.

I switched to that from XIRCON when I wanted to consolidate my IM apps, and was perfectly happy.

Not sure what features it has (I’ve never really looked into it), but just thought I’d toss in HydraIRC, which is what I use–could never figure mIRC out.
