Recommend a great curry house in Birmingham

As the title says. I’m going to be in Birmingham, England, next week with a few people and want to go for a curry.

Can you recommend the best place?

Birmingham’s indigenous curry is the Balti. If you want a good but pricey experience, try Al Faisals. I think they are open despite the recent Sparkbrook Tornado.

Whereabouts in Birmingham?

If you’re around Sparkbrook, then most places in what’s termed the ‘Curry Triangle’ are good. If you’re close to the University (Edgbaston/Selly Oak way) then there’s the Shapla on Bristol Road that I took the BritDopers to about three years ago, or there’s the Dilshad which again is highly recommended, and that I booked for a workshop meal in July which was really good.
