Recommend a Hotel for me in Santa Monica, CA

I’m going to be flying into LAX on Thursday evening, the 31st, for a business meeting on Friday morning. Thursday night, I’ll stay in a top hotel since my company will be paying. Instead of flying back on the Friday, I’ve decided to stay through Saturday. So I’d like to know a good but cheap hotel that’s close to the beach and close to good nightlife, for a Friday night stay. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Just throwing it out: I know there is a Holiday Inn right on the beach near the Santa Monica pier. Walking distance to Third Street Promenade. I have no idea if it’s any nicer than a regular Holiday Inn or what a Friday night room costs.

That one’s about $200 per night. I’m hoping to find something for under $100, if possible. Thanks.

The Pacific Sands is also in that general location, but it’s not going to be as nice as a Holiday Inn. Let’s put it this way: it’s retro, but not by choice. I imagine it’s going to be closer to your price range.

Thanks, that might work. I don’t plan on being in the room much except to sleep and get ready in the AM.

If you’re willing to give Priceline a shot, they have some decent hotels in that area. I got a room at the Radisson LA Westside for $85 a couple of months ago.
