Recommend a newer 1st Person Shooter

I want a newer high end graphics 1st person shooter game. I don’t care if it’s a Earth or Alien setting.

I want to shoot, ambush, sniper or blow the enemy up.
I really like Fallout 3 which I own. One like this would be great.
Great graphics are much desired.
Finding stuff and using it or trading it is the type of resupplying I’m looking for.
I use a keyboard and mouse when playing. No special controller as I can’t use them.

I don’t want to play other people.
I don’t want a war sim about a historical battle.
I don’t want to have to do supply line, and production management.
I don’t want a a ridiculous copyright scheme. A reasonable scheme is fine. I had one that denied access every time the smallest hardware change occurred.

Thanks

I just finished Metro 2033 on the 360 though it’s also available on the PC. From what I hear the PC version has very good graphics (depending on your PC of course).

You have the option of stealthing through missions killing with silenced weapons and throwing knives or going apeshit with a shotgun (or a mixture). There isn’t much in the way of trading to be done, the unit of currency is pre-war ammo which is used to buy new weapons or trade for ‘dirty ammo’ or it can be used in your weapons for more damaging shots.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Russia where people live in the subways and a gas mask is required to venture onto the surface. Think of a cross between Fallout 3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

It isn’t the best game in the world and is pretty short but I was happy with it as I only got it as a rental.

Borderlands wasn’t bad. The story is paper-thin and the AI is a little stupid, but it was fun.

There’s always Half-Life 2. I’ve played through it a couple of times and it’s still great.

Steam has Crysis for 50% off right now, but the sale only lasts for another few hours.

Bioshock I and II rilly rawk. Beautiful graphics and a hell of good story too.

I Was thinking of Bioshock 2, but I’m not sure it’s what I want. Crysis perhaps. Great realistic graphics is a must. A world where windows break and buildings tumble is a good bonus, but not a must.

Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are great, but at their best when you play with other people. You don’t have to play against other people, though; co-op campaign mode is quite popular. The campaigns are quite short, so playing a complete game doesn’t take hours of your time. Replayability, in my opinion at least, is quite high.

CRYSIS! If you have not played it, do so now. The graphics are pretty amazing. Love the suit too. Crysis 2 is supposedly coming out soon, I can hardly contain my excitement for this release!!!

I went looking for Crysis and came home with memory. Crysis will have to wait until I have some money again. The purchase is delayed, not canceled.

Thanks people.

Another vote for Crysis, it has everything you are looking for.

bioshock is definatly the way to go. and if you want a game where you can really get into customization of guns try out army of two. also for a cheap couple bucks and a shitload of fun get the original crackdown

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a lot of fun. I don’t play it as much as I should though.

I’ve never finished the single player, so I don’t know how much gameplay you’ll get out of it. I usually play for the multiplayer.

You forgot what you went to buy?
