Recommend a recipe to me...(almost) any recipe

I’m looking for something interesting to make.

And I have to go shopping for groceries today anyway, so I’m open to suggestions!

Restrictions:
[ul]Ideally, it should be something where the leftovers can be eaten for lunch the next day (hot or cold).[/ul]
[ul]Doesn’t contain tinned or packaged goods which are only available in the US.[/ul][ul]Doesn’t take more than an hour and a half to prepare.
[/ul]

Quantities would be appreciated, including how many (approximately) the recipe serves.

Ingredients:

1C beans,i.e. northern whites (though any dried bean will work)
 1lemon
 1 Tblsp Olive oil
 1 tsp cumin,toasted and ground
 miscellaneous salt,pepper and some paprika

Cook the beans, drain and mash-if you have a processor, spin 'em,add the other ingredients,to taste.(I like more oil and cumin)
   Serve with olives,capers,crudites,flatbread,etc.

Any leftovers you can refry and serve with tortillas, for example.

Quantities given would be a meal for two if you have other sides.

Thanks. Could you please fight my ignorance - what is a ‘C’?

C=Cup=8oz.

Pasta salad is easy and you can dress it up for a full meal or just eat it as a side dish.

8-12 oz package of noodles (I like the spiral kind, but whatever you prefer)

boil and drain noodles, rinsing with cold water well to cool them.

Blend 1/2 cup olive oil with 4 tablespoons vinegar and add salt, pepper, garlic, onion, paprika and parsley to taste. (Or use bottled vinagrette salad dressing.) Toss over noodles and turn to coat well.

Chop tomatoes, black olives, bell peppers and onion and throw in. Get creative and cut up pepperoni or salami or chicken and some cheese and throw it in for a heartier salad.

Tastes even better the next day after all the flavors blend together.
