Recommend a tv series to watch over the summer

Human Target, a mini action movie this Summer with every episode!

Star Trek: Deep Space 9 - not quite as good as BSG, but damn close.

Futurama - if you’re a sci fi fan and haven’t seen this show, I pity you

Freaks and Geeks - really brilliant acting, directing and writing. The show had a short run but every episode was golden.
**
Buffy the Vampire Slayer **- I didn’t expect to like this. I was not overwhelmed by the first season, but it got really good in season two and I’m well into season four and some damn good TV.

Angel - If you get hooked on Buffy, you’ll probably get hooked on Angel.

Another vote for Mad-Men, but it could be rather confusing to jump in without seeing any of the first 3 seasons.

Eli Stone. It sounds smarmy (a lawyer with a brain aneurysm sees visions and tries to act on them) but isn’t.

Supernatural–you can get the first four seasons to watch; the fifth won’t be around till September unless you want to pay to watch it on Amazon or something.
Great, fun series/saga about two brothers who follow in their demon-hunting father’s footsteps. Lots of demons and other creatures, heaven, hell, angels, humor, horror, you name it.
On a very different note: Nip/Tuck has a lot of plastic surgery scenes and a tremendous amount of sex, and equal amounts of pathos, silliness, and just plain weirdness.

Stop everything and watch:

Supernatural

It’s the best show on television right now. It’s an amazing saga(the beginning might be a bit weak) and it’s hilarious and moving.

Back to back Supernatural. Sounds intriguing! Love that kind of stuff.

Turn on the USA Network.

Royal Pains (Season 2), White Collar (Season 2) and a new one, Covert Affairs, all start July 12/13.

In Plain Sight just had their Season Finale. Netflix has the first 2 Seasons.

I think you can watch all previous episodes online on the USA website.

Been watching the Royal Pains marathon today (massive laundry marathon as well!). It’s really good!

Another recommendation for Breaking Bad. This is hands down the best thing on television right now, at least for me.

As others have said, the first two seasons are available on DVD.

Season 3 just ended recently and it’s apparently going to be a year before season 4 starts, so it’s likely season 3 will be available before then.

It’s just not what you would expect from the description. It’s drama, excellent dialog, and even humor.

Burn Notice

Better off Ted

Reaper

Glee

I was just thinking about Veronica Mars. I missed quite a bit of the second season, and would like to watch that again.

There debate on the merits of the third season, but definitely catch the 1st two.

Brian

If you like plot heavy sci fi, you really can’t beat Babylon 5. Great character development, wonderful moral ambiguity.

I also recommend Freaks and Geeks. It’s my favorite show of all time and when I introduce family or friends to it, they usually become addicted to it as well. I also have all three seasons of Arrested Development on DVD and I watch those like eating potato chips. I can’t watch just one episode. I have to watch several in a row. When my wife and daughter were out of town for three days, I watched all of season one and half of season two while she was gone. It helps to watch the episodes in order.

Also, Fawlty Towers is good. My son is just getting into it (he’s 12). It’s a classic.

SyFy is kicking off new seasons on some current shows - Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Ghost Hunters International, plus some new shows.
