I have a bunch of video files of various kinds on my hard drrive I’d like to burn to a dvd. Can anybody recommend a freeware program that will let me convert avi files to dvd?
Usually there’s a simple video editor and DVD creation program that came with your DVD recorder drive. The one that came with my recorder allows me to queue up files, then converts them and burns the disc.
Beyond that… DVD authoring programs such as DVD-LAB will let you arrange video files and create menus, then create a disc image, which you can then burn to disc using your DVD drive’s burner program. The video programs may need to be converted to MP2 video format though. I use a program called “TMPGenc” to do that.
DivxToDVD, is freeware, and quite good, but doesn’t create menus.
