During a session of exuberant musical enjoyment, hereafter referred to as a “jam session”, my computer speakers began acting in a fashion unusual compared to their normal behavior. Normally, they both play their correct side of music (left/right) but during said jam session the left one said “fuck this” and walked out (Stopped playing any music). After an hour or so Lefty came back, apologized and explained he just needed a break or else he was going to lose it.
Fast forward to the proceeding day and Righty pulls a Lefty. That is, he said “fuck this” and left. Only to come back a short while later and began playing in harmony with Lefty as though nothing happened. This did not go unnoticed by me, but I let him think I was oblivious.
So guys, what the fuck? You think you’re allowed to just walk out on a jam session like that? It’s not like we’d been jammin’ for that long, so I know it wasn’t an abnormally hard session or anything.
This doesn’t even begin to cover my problems when I plug in some earbuds!
So can you guys tell me what’s going on with these delinquent speakers or shall I just start looking elsewhere for such talent? If I should start looking for replacement talent, can you direct me to a good place to look for such things? I don’t ask for much from my computer speakers, I just want to be able to crisply jam to my jams with no fuss or temper tantrums.
I know M-Audio doesn’t make the best equipment in the world, kind of a budget brand, but I use these:
and am very happy with them for general audio purposes. I do a bit of recording and they’re not ideal for this but they work ok. Not sure what your budget is, these are $150.
Holy crap. 150 is a budget price? Sounds like I better just get used to these speakers.
And for whatever it’s worth, they haven’t acted up in the least since I started this thread or at all since the incident talked about in the OP. They are generally decent speakers, so I don’t know what got into them. I hope it’s not drugs. Sex and/or rock and roll I can handle, but not drugs.
I recently bought the Logitech X-540 speakers and I am very happy with the price and sound. I paid $80 at best buy, but you can find them for a little less online. They replaced a 10 year old set of Altec Lansing speakers.
