I’m stuck in bed this weekend with a bad cold and a laptop so I thought I’d do something creative. Specifically, I want to take some portrait photos and do some cool image manipulation stuff in the GIMP, and I’m looking for ideas or tutorials. One I really like is Pop Art Inspired by Lichtenstein, which shows you how to turn portraits into, well, Roy Lichtenstein-inspired pop art. (It’s for Photoshop, but easy enough to adapt to the GIMP.)
Can anyone recommend any other guides or tutorials? Or even just examples of particularly striking and unusually manipulated images that will give me ideas, or which I can try to emulate?
Some of the absolute best and brightest guys and gals in the world post their Photoshop and Gimp work here. It’s got fun tutorials and an absolutely amazing photoshop archive. I can and often do spend hours going through the galleries. I recently used the tutorial to cube an Apple. It was very fun and it came out very nice!
Thanks for that link, Phlosphr. I Stumbled upon that site quite a while ago, then somehow wandered away from it without bookmarking it or noting the name. (“Cool graphics site” is not an efficient Google search string.)
