Recommend some music from this century

Some of my favorites are Neil Young, Dylan, Graham Parker, Lucinda Williams etc. Haven’t listened to much new stuff for the past couple of decades, but I know Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile, Big Thief, Jason Molina, John Doe and the Sadies

I’m a big fan of the first 3 that you mention. So assuming that the other stuff that I like you may like, Recent listening includes these albums:

Kurt Vile’s old band, The War On Drugs. I really like the live album Live Drugs.
Justin Townes Earle The Saint of Lost Causes
Lord Huron Long Lost
Johnny Blue Skies Passage Du Desir

I’ll check those out. If you like Justin, you’ll like Lucinda - Car Wheels on a Gravel Road

Hey, you’re dead right. Thanks for that. She’s got some great covers too. And I love a good cover.

JTE’ s Dreams is one of the latest.

Brian Vander Ark from 2004:

Based on your OP, you might like the following singer/songwriters:

Sierra Ferrell (an early tune)

Grace Potter (Live performance of Cortez the Killer)

Colter Wall (a murder ballad)

And I would be remiss not to mention a series of song polls @Mean_Mr.Mustard ran asking about the best songs from this century:

How about some Jason Isbell? Check out “Live from Alabama” or “Southeastern”.

If you like wordsmiths, try out Elbow, a band from North West England. They’ve been around for about 25 years now and achieved critical acclaim, but never really been as popular as their music merits. They did get one big hit on the back of it being a bit of a theme for the 2012 London Olympics.

Iron and Wine
Gregory Alan Isakov

I don’t know if he’s done much recently, but James Blunt had a good run as a melancholy British blue-eyed soul singer about 15-20 years ago or so.

I’m a Baby Boomer (in my 70s). I listen to a lot of Classic Rock from the 60s & 70s. However, I also listen to some 80s music, a little 90s music, & a smattering of 21st Century music.

Around 2015 I discovered Dawes. I like only a few of their songs but I REALLY like those songs. My 2 favorites are A Little Bit of Everything & All Your Favorite Bands.

BTW, this message is a partial copy of a message I previously posted in a different thread.
