Recommend some parenting blogs?

Or message boards. Any place where people with kids in the early grades might hang out. Especially, but not exclusively, if there’s a focus on schooling and how kids learn.

Pioneer woman has a section on home schooling
Mir talks a lot about the challenges of dealing with schools and the different challenges that her daughter and son bring to the table.

I don’t read either for their parenting or education portions but they do both seem like they would meet your requirements.

Most parenting sits are full of weird, messed up people. The only site about parenting that I vist regularly is Free Range Kids http://freerangekids.wordpress.com/

Weird and messed up, eh? This would be for the purpose of promoting some educational videos. I’ll check out Free Range Kids.

Thanks for that link. It looks like a blog I will get a lot out of reading.

I like Ask Moxie quite a bit - rational advice for many stages. http://moxie.blogs.com/askmoxie/

Parent Hacks is genius for neat little tips, every day. http://www.parenthacks.com/

I also like this one: http://simplekids.net/

One more fave - it’s local to me, but she has wonderful ideas and early-elementary aged sons. http://eastcoastmommyblog.blogspot.com/

These are good. Thank you!

I second Moxie, very strongly. She’s fantastic. That’s the only parenting blog I really read, although I do read a lot of “mommy blogs” and learn plenty from them.

This one, Teacher Tom, is pretty cool. He’s a preschool teacher at a cooperative school.
