A buddy of mine is getting married in September, and he’s asked me to help him out with the music. I’m looking for a few hours worth of fun / happy songs. We lean toward rock, but there’s no cast-in-stone genre requirements. We were all teens in the 90s, so that was the music of our youth. I just want to avoid anything angsty. Thanks as always!
I’ll be watching the replies as I’m responsible for a 7/7/07 one myself. NPR had a fella talking about just such a thing the other day, but I only managed to catch a brief bit. His requirements were low key and positive message and suggested, for one, Neil Young’s Harvest Moon. Did anyone catch that show and additional titles? Good luck , EJ.
Music for dancing or just to listen to during dinner?
A couple of my favorite wedding songs: “When I’m Sixty-Four” and “It’s the End of the World As We Know It” (because it is, but in a good way). Both are popular and happy.
I don’t know what kind of crowd will be at the reception, but “Baby Got Back” got folks out on the dance floor like nothing I’ve ever seen at one of my cousin’s weddings. (You may want to play it after the grandmas have left for the evening.)
The selected works of Slipknot
My wife and I burned four CD’s for the reception at our recent wedding. It was a big hit Here are a few of the songs, in no particular order:

How 'bout “All of the above”?
I want to include some dancin tunes - I had Outkasts “Hey Ya” on the list becaues it’s fun, I like Baby Got Back. But I guess I’m looking for a good mix that’ll make everyone happy at some point or other during the reception
Well, for happy music, go to some '60’s Mowtown.
