My wife and I currently own two printers, both pretty old and neither very satisfactory. I am looking to replace them with one printer. It should be a fax, a copier, a scanner, and a color printer. It should be networked without having it attached to any one computer. And not too expensive. We don’t need a lot of throughput. I go through about 1000 sheets of paper a year, maybe 1500. I know this is correct because a box of 5000 sheets lasts several years. So speed is not an issue. Any recommendations?
One of the annoying features of one of the printers (it is a laser printer, but I am not expecting a new one to be) is that it simply refuses to run when it decides a new cartridge is needed. I can take the old one out and put it back and it would run fine for several months. The inkjet printer doesn’t refuse to run, but it makes ugly red blinks at me. I guess the machines are for the purpose of selling ink. So if there is one that doesn’t do that, I would like to know.
