Does anyone have any funny book and/podcast recommendations?
“Books” is a really broad category if you don’t specify genres that interest you. One that immediatly came to mind (and is worth mentioning because probably not a lot of people are familiar with it) is The Sheriff of Yrnameer by Michael Rubens, and is the closest book I’ve read to channeling Douglas Adams.

Uhh Yeah Dude, America through the eyes of two American-Americans. Funniest duo I’ve ever heard.
ETA: Seth Romatelli and Jonathan Larroquette. Jonathan is that Larroquette’s son and has shared some funny family gossip.
The “L” last name and the (apparent, I haven’t read them) general style of those books brings another possibility to mind: How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier.
Also worth a look are the multiple books of Christopher Moore and Tom Holt.
