I think it may be about time to upgrade the ol’ PC (for the next generation of gaming). I’m gonna need a new processor, which means a new motherboard, and thus probably some new ram. In the past I’ve usually bought these components from Newegg.com and put it all in myself. But I’m wondering if there’s perhaps somewhere that sells these things bundled or in a barebones system.
The only problems I’ve had with Aberdeeninc (dot cooooom!) is they occasionally hold a shipment rather than substituting a part if something is out of stock.
They look rather short on bare-bones kits right now.
Newegg and TigerDirect both sell barebone systems with case, mobo and proc. You can also buy mobo/proc combos. Not sure if any of them come with RAM - probably because of fluctuating RAM prices?
I’ve never, ever had a problem with Newegg. Never tried TigerDirect but I’ve compared prices there before. I just don’t buy there because Newegg has always been good.
