Recording from mic and pc at the same time

I can choose the source from which I want to record from the recording control. you can find the recording control by clicking (Options > properties> Recording>OK) in the voume control window. Now, when you tick the mic, you can record your voice. And when you tick SterioMix or MonoMix you will be recording from your sound card i.e. you will be recording what ever sound you are playing on your computer.

The question is: How do I record from multiple sources? How can I record from the mic and the monomix at the same time? I want to speak with my friend on the messenger and play a background music, how to do that?

Any thought?

Windows Mixer is not really an accurate description of what it does. It mixes the levels of each input relative to the level of the next, but only does one at a time. You really need an outboard mixer for what you want to do.

Radio Shack has a basic little mixer that’s probably exactly what you need.

What I need is a sofware mixer. I guess I found one, but it is simple. Voice Emotion is used basically in coversational programs, but it hasn’t got any sophisticated feautres for mixing.

Go into Master Volume and unmute the Microphone slider.
Then go into Properties and click on Adjust volume for - Recording.

Then choose Stereo Mix/Mono mix.

FOR MY SURPRISE, this works. I don’t know why I thought it didn’t. Sorry for bothering you.
