Recovering an unclosed CD-RW session?

A friend of mine’s computer went haywire and had to have a complete software reinstallation, much to her annoyance. She hadn’t, however, had a chance to close session on the CD-RW she was working on. Since it’s basically a brand new computer now and since, from my limited understanding, you need to close a session on the same computer you started with, is there any way to recover the data now?

You can use any computer with a suitable burner.

In standard program like Nero and CD Creator, there are options to closed unclosed sessions and to view previously burned sessions. Check into those.

Note that if there was a problem during the actual burn, the data in the session is going to be a mess. Some will be there, some won’t and due to the internals of CD formats, what is there or not will appear random to you.
