Recovering from the flu

Ugh.

Got sick around 6-7 days ago and finally dragged myself off to the Doc about 4 days ago where I got prescriptions for inhalers, antibiotics, cough syrup and nose spray. My Doc didn’t do any tests- just looked in my throat and ears and listened to my lungs. I could hear myself wheezing. I could barely get out of bed to drag myself to the bathroom. I’m feeling a little better but still very weak and seem to be having trouble controlling my temp- still going from sweats to chills with little rhyme or reason.

Took my son to the Doc yesterday and he got a diagnosis of flu and pneumonia and a couple of Rx’s, too. He had a positive swab for flu. Poor kid- he was supposed to fly with his class to DC today. This is the second time that trip got cancelled. At the worst, he was coughing about every 20-30 seconds and was just exhausted from it. It took several treatments to get his cough under control so he could sleep.

Pure misery.

Got the flu once 20 years ago and knocked me flat one my asa for a week. Hope you feel better. And your son.

Got a case of pneumonia now that wont go away for good!

I’m sorry you’re feeling so poorly :frowning: It only took one round of the flu & pneumonia to sell me on the value of flu shots - hope you’ll consider getting them now too.

The flu can be debilitating, for sure. Sorry you all are down and that your son missed his trip. Hope there’s somebody there to take care of you.
