If I get a speeding ticket, I pay my fine and forget about it.
If I get 10 tickets, I may lose my license.
Least controversial banning ever. And I liked Reeder.

Oh, i think that’s probably true. The fact that i’m almost the Lone Ranger in opposing his ban is quite clear. That’s how it goes. Maybe it’s some personal defect of mine, but i’ve opposed most bannings of long-term members around here—Collounsbury; december; hell, i even thought milroyj’s banning was poorly justified by the mods. With all their idiocies and exasperating tendencies, these people still made this place a little more interesting. I guess i feel the same about Reeder. Obviously i’m in a tiny minority, which would mean that even if this Board were a democracy (which it’s not), i still wouldn’t get my way.
I just find it amusing, as i suggested above, that some of the people celebrating loudest and most self-righteously are people who were, for want of a better term, Reeder-enablers. They couldn’t just let his drive-by threads go; they had to weigh in on even the most trivial issues, often with posts and content-free and as simplistic as Reeder’s.
Kind of ironic considering what Reeder loved to do…
Bush can respond if he cares to join. Reeder cannot join. Not same same.
Somewhere out in the world, a little baby hamster has been spared enslavement in the sweatshop known as the SDMB. Let us not forget the hamsters.
IMO, Reeder was wrongly banned. In particular, the thread that he started that got him banned was a completely reasonable thread for the BBQ Pit.
Well, i think that Coldfire is generally a great mod, but i think that the conditions set out in that warning were stupid and unfair. Also, one could very easily make the argument that a thread about the President raising his middle finger to a group of journalists actually is about politics. After all, the issue of presidential behaviour and decorum, and his relationship with the media, is an inextricable part of the political position.
Oh, go sit in the corner with rfgdxm.
I agree. This clearly is political. And, if I had started the same thread in the pit, I doubt anyone would have seen my post as inappropriate. Basically, Reeder got squished for doing nothing wrong. Now, had he started that thread in GD, given his past warnings he should have been banned.
::: sigh :::
It’s obvious that we are going to agree to disagree here.
Duly noted that you do not approve.
Let’s move on.

By all means. After all, if we’re not agreeing with you, then the conversation musn’t be worth having, right?
Consider the subject closed.
If Dubya wants to join, I’ll pay his membership fee.
Seeing as it’s reeder, we oughta moveon.org
Swiftly?
While it’s unrealistic for Bush to have the time/inclination/motivation to post here, is it any less unrealistic that Reeder could e-mail his views to another member who would post Reeder’s sentiments on his behalf?
I think not.
The few times I’ve seen that, it’s gotten frowned upon pretty strongly.
I refuse to sign the form promising not to criticize him in his presence.
As long as you keep it in the Pit, knock yourself out.
Note: I claim no political affiliation.
