I missed the earlier episodes so I am unaware of some of the details of the important things, like what would make each of the guests marriageable. I am especially interested in what the countess would bring to a marriage to Mr Gorell Barnes. I mean, besides a nice figure and a dirty mind, of inestimable value in a mistress but not high priorities in a wife. Does she hold the title suo jure where she could, at least, pass the peerage along to her future son though it does little good for a common, though wealthy, husband, like Mr Gorell Barnes, or is she the dowager duchess with a son who has already inherited the title? Does she hold lands of her own? What does she have that would set her above, say, Lady Samuel, who, though I get the impression holds no West Indian sugar plantations, is a successful businesswoman :dubious: in her own right?
And could Lady Hopkins be a bigger slut? I say, a musician?
