I love my beret.
Agreed. A nice stomach can be the sexiest part of a woman’s body. Mm.
Hooray for sans-a-belt! Are they plaid?
Hell yeah. I also bought a pair of bright yellow pants the other day that look like they belong on some 80-year-old Floridian. If there’s a Fashion Hell, I’m going there.
I also like fluorescent colors and Nehru jackets.
Two of them are. The others are pumpkin, chocolate brown, black with white piping, white, pale yellow and red. They are sweet!
I like and wear big (think George HW Bush) glasses, even though everyone tells me to get new, smaller ones. I’m afraid that it will always look like I am seeing the world through glasses, rather than suspend my disbelief.
I also like carnival-barker style striped shirt and porkpie hat combo, I oughta get me one of those someday.
Ludovic, You’re in luck. Big [sun] glasses are back.
hehehe, Rilchiam I bet it looks good on you.
I liked Hypercolor shirts and would buy one for every day of the week if they were still available.
I agree with everyone about capris–love 'em, love 'em, love em.
I love the whole gypsy/peasant/hippie gauzy tops and skirts looks.
Regretfully, I look like a potato sack when I’ve tried them on.
Wah.
Another vote for capris. They are the un-vagina-wedgable shorts. Nothing worst than the female frontal wedgie while trying to walk. And, you don’t have to shave as much, which is always a plus.
I still think leg warmers can be attractive on a woman (provided she has the build of a dancer). Still waiting for the revolution to come when everyone dresses like characters from Buck Rogers.
I’ll jump in for leg-warmers too.
Also for the low-rise jeans, which I didn’t like at first, but now I think they’re great. The vast majority of women I see wearing them look fine in them, though I agree with those who don’t want to see crack. As some have observed, some people need a lower rise so their jeans don’t come up to the ribs, depending on build.
One fashion that a lot of people seem to despise is pleated men’s slacks. I’m not big on slacks anyway, but I think there’s nothing wrong with pleats provided that the pants aren’t so tight that the pleats don’t hang right.
Another vote for berets – I have a whole stack of 'em. Been wearing them for years, and I’ll keep it up no matter what you say.
Shoulder pads – another narrow-shouldered chick here. Not the huge Krystle Carrington ones – just enough to balance the figure, please.
And I’ll always be a fan of primary colors. I CONSTANTLY get compliments when I wear my favorite orange top.
I really liked the look of Nehru jackets, but never got one myself.
I also love hats – I’d love to wear a derby or fedora. Unfortunately, I stick with baseball caps.
Leggings
No!!! Well leggings are gorgeous on a woman who looks good in just tights, but so few women look good in them, they mostly either look scrawny and under-age, or like they are carrying a shoppingbag full of mixed fruit tucked down each leg.
Personally I’m for wearing pvc trousers, or drag, or New-romantic/gothic styles, so Don’t take my word on fashion as Gospel
Banana clips.
I hated the big permed hair that went with banana clips, but those things were handy.
I also miss leggings for lounging around in.
Ah, banana clips. No matter what I did with my hair, they wouldn’t stay in. The clip would be sliding out of my hair within an hour. I gave up on 'em.
How about 80s style jumpsuits? I still have my black and gold (oooh shiny) pin-striped one somewhere.
Straight leg, tight jeans worn with Candies slide-on high heeled shoes. I’m built for that look, and I miss it.
