Reheating French fries

Is there any way to reheat leftover fries so they come out more or less like they are when fresh-cooked? Or at least so they don’t come out all grainy and yucky and coating-the-roof-of-your-mouth?

Toaster oven?

or regular oven

To finish off the thread…

Place in oven of your choice on 425 for about 10 minutes.

Oven-reheating fries never seems to produce an edible product, IME. (And I don’t even wanna think about microwaving 'em!) But next time I’ll try it at 425 degrees and see what happens.

I’ve had much success with frying - a light spray of oil on a hot hot pan and turn them to heat evenly.

Hmm. Try oven-reheating them for several minutes, and then turning the broiler on for a couple of minutes to see if you can re-crisp and brown them a bit.

It isn’t perfect, but it works. The high heat is better since it will keep em crispy. Make sure the oven is hot when you put them in. This is important.

If you have a stoneware tile and a convection toaster oven, you’re in business. Take out the top grill in the toaster oven and preheat to 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. Open the toaster oven and quickly dump the fries on the hot tile, hear them sizzle as they sear. Toss the fries all over the tile so that each side is slightly seared. Then close the door and heat for about 10-15 minutes, checking that the fries don’t burn. When done, open the toaster door and use an oven mitt to pull out the fries and dump them on a plate. While they are still hot and glistening, sprinkle with salt. Dip fries into condiment of your choice and eat while hot! hope this helps!
