Cepacol, definitely. I was going through the same thing last week and my room mate made me a hot toddy (whiskey and honey) and it really did help for a bit. But, yeah, unfortunately it’s pretty much just a waiting game. Hope it’s feeling better by now.
Tums. Sounds weird I know, but it’s almost magical. Only thing which let me eat during my worst cases of strep and tonsillitis. Suck them, or chew and swallow them slowly. Trust me.
Just try not to eat too many.
I second the ibuprofen to help with how intensely you feel the pain. Then try the topical applications.
At this point, that would be my vote. If nothing else is working, some codeine-laced cough syrup might be the ticket. Not only will it hopefully ease the pain a tad, but it also might help induce some sleep which should speed healing and make you feel a few percent better.
My home remedy is scotch followed by yogurt.
There are various brands of sore throat spray that numb the part you spray it on.
See above. Also you should be able to get some sort of anaesthetic cough lollies
May be too late but Aspergum is my preferred remedy. It is aspirin laced chewing gum and gets the medicine where it is needed most.
ETA: Oh no! Per Wikipedia: As of 2006, Aspergum is no longer being manufactured or sold.
I’ve heard you have to kiss a mouse right on the lips for throat relief.

Ice damn cream.
Unless you’re immune to it.
Humidify. You say you drank a lot of water, but you might need to humidify your environment, especially your sleeping space.
How’s your throat doing?
A shot of honeyed whiskey with some lemon juice in usually does the trick for me. When that doesn’t work, I go for the numbing lozenges.
Oxycodone. Vodka chaser.
Oh, my throat’s fine, but everything else on me feels terrible. Apparently the sore throat was a cold harbinger, so I spent my weekend building a fortress of snot rags. Actually, today I actually feel almost like a human being again. Not at 100%, but much better than yesterday when I thought to myself, “You know, suicide sure would make this day go by faster.” Now I feel almost okay and will probably be fine and dandy by tomorrow. I haven’t had a cold in years and almost forgot how much they suck! When people I know get colds, I wish them well, but am smugly thinking to myself, “Suckers! I don’t get colds.” And then I got one.
Perfect excuse for spending the day in bed or a comfy chair drinking tea with whisky, honey and lemon.
