Enlightened universalist theism

Note to the stat compilers:

Messianic Jews belong in the Christian category not the Jewish one.

Note to stat compilers:

To avoid argument, give the Messianic Jews their own category.

Atheist

19 “Other?” Yet so many “others” who have one or two adherants get their own designation?

Is this really fair?

Is it misleading?!?

Is it helping to “Fight Ignorance?”

I not so humbly request an “other” breakout.

happy Unitarian Universalist with secular humanist leanings, most certainly not a deist

My methodology is explained after the results.

I was interested in current religious beliefs, as opposed to cultural identification or what belief system someoe was brought up in. So, for example, if someone said they were an “raised Catholic, agnostic” I put them down as agnostic.

If someone said they were some mix of agnostic and atheist, I put them down as agnostic. If someone said they were “agnostic/atheist, but attending such-and-such church”, I put them down as either agnostic or atheist unless that church accepts agnosticism or atheism (e.g., Unitarian Universalism, Society of Friends).

If someone gave a “witty,” ambiguous, or one-of-a-kind answer, I didn’t tally them at all (sorry, Bippy).

Agnostic

Casual Buddhist/agnostic

UU (theist)

To be absolutely frank, I did that tally as much for my own curiosity as for anyone else’s; I just thought that if I were going to count them up I might as well post the list, as it had been some time since a tally had been posted. Subsequently, my intent was not for a specific breakdown of religious preferences, rather an outline of the large groups. I apologize for any resulting confusion/offense or inherent impropriety in so doing.

 [sup]That must be exciting![/sup]

I’m also a Liberal Christian, no longer attending a UMC.

Christian. Specifically, Presbyterian Church USA.

Active and conservative, pot-smoking naked pictures-taking, cool with homosexuals, down with the rock music. Attending a Reformed Presbyterian college with a mix of contentment and amusement.
