Turns out that kid was a 16 year old Chinese kid whose teacher posted the pic online and the it went viral. At first he was embarrassed by the unwanted attention, but eventually embraced it.
Name is Qian Zhijun. He became an internet celebrity in China, hosted a cooking show, appeared in few Chinese movies, and a variety of commercials. He got married a few years ago, and posted his wedding pictures online.
