Somebody posted this on another forum, which is now closed . I found it to be a great presentation, but a lot of members on that forum that it was propaganda, pornographic, and didn’t care to much for it. This link does contain images of 9/11, so if these images upset you, you might want to choose not to visit this link.
My views on it are that it is a grim reminder that there are people out there who wish to do us harm just because they don’t agree with our government. I also look at it as remember those who fought and died for our freedoms that we enjoy today (and many take for granted) in the many wars of this country.
This presentation does have audio, so if any of you are at work, you might want to turn down your speaker volume so that you don’t bother anyone with it. Any thoughts on this piece?
I thought this was outstanding and very well done. I think we should all visit it every couple of months so we remember how we felt that day. Not just for vengence but for respect.
Kputt, you have disturbed some people. But they need to be disturbed. Anyone who would consider that presentation as “propaganda” are the type of people who are out of touch with mainstream America. They don’t want to face the reality that the attacks of 9/11 were of extreme historical significance to this country. It will be remembered as the event that caused the majority to turn away from the comfortable cucoon of liberalism. It made in necessary to face the fact that there were, in fact, people who would love to kill as many of us as they can. Many people were already aware of that fact before that day, of course. Those were the people that were saying that we needed to beef up the CIA and that immigration laws needed to be enforced more strictly. They were the ones that were saying that special attention needed to be paid to Arab males from known terrorist states…political correctness be damned. They were the ones who supported beefing up the military after it was negelected and run into the ground in the 1990’s. Did the left listen to them? No. Those inconvienient realities did not fit into the plan for Utopia.
But then the attack came. And all people had to do was simply say “9/11” and all the things liberals hated began to happen. The CIA and the military were strengthed. The Homeland Security Department was created. And the Taliban was removed…freeing millions of people and removing direct threats to the United States. At this very moment, terrorists are being hunted worldwide.
That, my friend is the legacy of the 9/11 attacks. As a result of the deaths of those 3000 plus people, much positive work is being done and the United States is stronger as a result.
And as an added bonus, the cause of liberalism in American politics was dealt a severe blow. They just can’t see it.
As a conservative warmonger, I find that link horrendously pompous, and shallow. The blatant manipulation of a tragedy in such a highhanded fashion pisses me off. Further, the graphic images of dying people put together into a slideshow by ham-handed pontificators telling me what it all means is disgusting.
Yes, those are people’s families. Yes that is somebody’s daughter.
Don’t use them to make your point, and presume to lecture at me like you know something.
