Remember the Game Mouse Trap?

They missed a trick by not including Mousetrap in the colecovision flashback system. Though, I think I prefer Universal’s Ladybug, which it also lacked.

Any, obligatory.

I have it and used to play it with my older daughters. Strangely, we never played “with it”. Also never had a failed trap, but that’s mostly because I made sure it was set up properly.

Yep, I had that one. I set up from the top of the stairs and placed the drums every 3rd or 4th step down.

My memory of it was that the mechanism often failed to work as intended even if ostensibly set up correctly. Of course, if it failed, it meant it was set up incorrectly, but that just means that the tolerance was too low and it was too easy to not set it up correctly while thinking you had.

Life size version.

Seems like the diver not launching into the tub was the most common malfunction, although, the boot not kicking the bucket happened occasionally too.

We actually have the newer Elefun & Friends version

We also have the Elefun game (Elefun blows moths into the air out of his trunk and you catch them with nets) and Elefun version of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

I don’t think our kids ever play the actual games. They just play with the contraptions.

Had Mousetrap; we played it a lot. It really was a lot of fun to us back then.

A cousin had Operation; that one we really enjoyed a lot more years than I can to admit.
OK – even after we were in college. Stoned it was just as much fun as when we were 5)

We had the diver with his back to the tub. He went in every time.

I always liked how elements of this construction ended up in the opening credits for Elementary.
