In Canada, we wear poppies sold by the war veteran’s association (the Canadian Legion, I believe) in remembrance of the dead and veterans of the wars that Canada has been involved in (and also as a fundraiser for the vets). I’m wondering what traditions people in other countries have to commemorate their veterans and the soldiers who died in wars, and also what you call your version of the Remembrance Day that Canadians observe on November 11.
