Reminder on bumping thread etiquette/preferences?

I want to post a IMHO thread about my musings about getting the H1N1 vaccine. There is a perfectly good thread about it (WITH a poll!) whose last post was 12/19/09.

What are mod preferences on whether I should start a new thread or not? The time passed here is around that mark that my judgment finds ambiguous.

Back in March, I bumped a CS thread exactly one year to the minute after the OP was posted. (Mind you, the OP was mine so it had attracted zero replies in the intervening 365 days.)
