Reminder: The 4400's new season starts 7/17

I, for one, am looking forward to this. I got into it last summer. I’ll admit I didn’t like the third season as much as the first two, but it held my interest.

I’m curious as to what’s going to happen this year, I can’t wait to find out.
Oh, and the 4400 need to be destroyed. I’m on the ‘bad guys’ side.

The endless back’n’forth with whatserface turned me off and I didn’t really care at the end. I’ll check out the htreads here to see if it picks up.

This one and The Closer…it’s summertime!!

The 4400 is brought to us by a few Star Trek alums…they’ve also had some Star Trek actors (Jeffrey Combs, Alice Krige) on the show.

The whole promicin thing looks very promising…wheeee!!!

I don’t get the new seasons until fall, when our local Space Channel starts broadcasting them. :frowning:

I love the show. I’m watching re-runs of the second season now and picking up what I’ve missed. Without spoilering too much, I can see why the 4400 hate Peter Coyote so much!

Woo, hoo! I’ll be watching.

How long you think before Tom Baldwin tears up over something?

5-6 minutes. Tops.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. He can get all misty-eyed on my shoulder anytime. I might tease, but my shoulder is available.

Is this going to be a closed or open spoilered thread?

Couple random thougts on last night’s episode:
1.Kyle’s brain must still be a bit mushy from his coma if he couldn’t realize that red haired girl was being shady. I know the 4400s are supposed to be celebrities, but doesn’t he think it’s just a little odd to have a random stranger asking so many questions? 2. I’m not liking Ryland’s replacement so far, but perhaps she’ll get better. 3. Am I the only one who doesn’t care if Alana gets brought back to the future?

This wasn’t too bad of a season opener. I’m glad they’re bringing in some new characters, and I thought the idea of promycin killing people was a nice twist.
Open Spoilers:

1: I can’t really blame Kyle though, she was telling him everything he knew himself and wanted to hear. It could be a side effect of his promycin injection.

2: She’s hot, so I’m happy.

3: Nope.

Like you, I’m glad that they’re actually dealing with the deaths instead of just ignoring them. That’s part of the trouble with promycin, that 50-50 chance.

With the kid, I kinda feel bad for him. With that type of power, there really is nothing else you could do with it. I wouldn’t have tried to take over a city though, I’d be too busy having threeways.

I am interested in how they’re going to play the whole “Coltier-Jesus” angle.

And I really want to know what the catastrophe was.

And (last thing, I swear), I’m starting to like Isabelle now. I started to on last seasons closer. Her finally killing people made me like her.

Pretty good episode. I didn’t realize how much I forgot though, and now I feel like I should go dig out the last couple eps of last season and re-wach them.

Almost everyone I wanted back, is back. Except maybe for Isabelle’s dad. I’d like to see what develops with him, and his new-found abilities.

It’s great that Collier’s still a big part of the story. For a long time it seemed they weren’t really sure if he’d stay. Glad he trimmed the beard. Now trim a little off the head too. What is it with messiah type guys and the beard & long hair? Collier’s got an ability? When did that happen? How did Collier know what it was?

So Diana is going back to Seattle. This is good and bad. Bad, because it appears she left Ben behind with Maia. Me want more Ben. Good, because she seems to have ditched Maia. Maia has lost her cuteness and is kinda annoying, with everything coming out of her mouth starting with “you’re going to…” Shut up!

Tom & son = good thing. But Kyle, dude! You knew that chick was up to something. You KNEW! Don’t act all surprised when you find out she maybe gave you a fake name!

What was her dealio anyway? New mystery.

Bwa, ha, ha! Alana got sent back to the 1800’s. Hey, I liked her well enough, but somehow I find that funny. Plus, it leaves my man Tom free and open to lots of relationships, as he should be.

I really liked finally finding out what Jordan’s 4400 abilitiy is.

But has he always known what his ability was? And what is his ability anyway? He said “I gave you Promicin and I can take it away.” But is it just the Promicin (sp?) stuff, or can he take any 4400’s ability away?

It is cool that Jared has the ability to take away the powers. If he’s supposed to be the Messiah, it’d make the most sense for him to be able to remove powers from anyone.

I’d like to see Richard come back too, and see how he’ll deal with his new abilities. On one hand I’m glad we won’t have to deal with seeing Shawn in a coma for several episodes, but on the other hand, he’s not a very good actor, so the coma might’ve been for the best.

If Isabelle doesn’t have her powers anymore, how’d she know about Alana?

Are we posting about last night’s (6/24) in this one or opening a new thread?

That said, on last week’s… The kid could have ‘used his powers for good’. Instead he chose to abuse them. I loved the line, “I made you normal”. And I agree about not caring too much about Alana.

I’m biting my tongue right now on what I have to say about last night’s ep!!!

Might as well use this one. It’s not like it’s insanely long.

space for people who don’t want to read about the 6/24 ep yet

Last season took a dip in quality, but the show is getting interesting again. I like the idea of Kyle having Cassie as a guide. Pretty cool ability. Didn’t they say that the people from the future meant to take him instead of Shawn? Perhaps that’s why he’s going to have an active role in the movement. Plus at least we’re getting to look at someone who’s using their injection gained abilities for good unlike the boy last week and this week. People being who and what they are, it seems like a bad idea to just let *everyone * get the shot, so Jordan and Shawn are probably going to have their hands full setting things right.

I know they’ve been setting up the religious angle for awhile with the Jordan Collier/Jesus Christ thing, which is fine with me, but I hope the show doesn’t devolve into a weekly witnessing thing. I’ll be interested to see what’s in that coded section of the ancient book is too.

I fully expected Kyle’s ability would render him able to read the coded portion of the book without a problem.

As for Cassie, are we sure that she’s Kyle’s “ability”? Perhaps she’s just a member of these…what were they called? White Knights? Perhaps she’s a member of them, with the ability to become selectively invisible. She may have just clouded Tom’s mind to her presence in Kyle’s bedroom.

I don’t think that’s the case, of course – that would just open up a lot more questions about how she knows a great many things that Kyle knows. Still, I’ll be waiting for more of a verification on this one…

Ok… Since we’re go… I was thinking about the Isabelle thread. Those dudes who came in to check her blood… I don’t think they’re who they say they are! Telling her she’d never get her powers back and has an immunity? Which side are they on? Why have her still as a character if she can’t do anything?

I’m betting that the lady NTAC agent’s sister is going to be a big player soon.

My question is, can he have his way with her? 'Cuz that’s what I would do. But I have decided long ago that the world is better off that I don’t have any powers.

Isabelle got so much more interesting when she wasn’t just brooding on if she should be ‘evil’ or not. Once she decided on a path, then I started to like her.

I’m really looking forward to this season. I want to know answers, but like those above I hope they don’t overplay the whole “jesus” thing. I would like to see how others beside the main characters are taking this whole thing, how/if religion has been shaken.

Kyle totally got screwed in the power department. I mean, Baltar already has that power, and his Invisible Girlfriend is not only much hotter, but also looks like she paid more than $5 for her haircut and dyejob.

Yea, I bet she will too.

I think Kyle’s brother is either going to die (most likely) or get involved with the dark side and have a sibling rivalry showdown.

She looks kind of weird to me, but to each his own.
