Often people use the search feature to look up their own names to keep track of the threads they’ve participated in. You can still have this functionality by clicking on user CP and then “view all subscribed threads” (by default, you become subscribed to any thread you post to).
Thought that tip might be helpful while the search is broken.
That’s not the case for me. How do I change my settings so that happens?
ETA: I think I figured it out. I went into my CP, into “Edit Options” and switched “Default Thread Subscription Mode” to “No Email Notification” instead of “Do not subscribe”. Thanks for the tip!
Go into your profile and use the Edit Options feature. Down the screen there’s a section on ‘Messaging & Notification’. Look at the ‘Default Thread Subscription Mode’. You can then choose to subscribe to all the threads you start or reply to, and even receive email notification when subsequent posts are made to those threads.
And of course, you needn’t post in a thread to subscribe to it. Simply click on “thread options” and select subscribe. Once you’ve subscribed, you can track the thread just like those you’ve subscribed to by posting. I use this feature a lot more now that I’m a moderator.
You won’t be retroactively subscribed to all the threads you posted in while you had automatic subscription off… just the ones starting after you changed the settings. For example, you should now see this thread in your list of subscriptions.
Thanks. But I wonder why it shows the one thread from last year. It’s one that asks if men do the laundry at home. I’m certain I did not actively subscribe to it.
