Removing a print from a piece of clothing?

I recently found a t-shirt in my drawers. It’s a nice enough t-shirt but it’s got JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER printed down the side in that rubbery sort of ink. I would like to JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER as much as the next guy but the writing is kind of ugly. Is there any way I can get rid of it?

Getting unconfortable, was it?

Paint and varnish remover, or scissors?
Seriously, unless you can find a solvent for that particular ink it’s wear it or trash it.
Or seq and appliquie over it.

If it’s the really thick, sort of 3-D print that they sometimes use on clothing, you can peel it off. If it’s more the conventional sort of screen printing ink, you may be SOL. A cursory glance through some screen printing supply websites reveals no ink removers.

I hear Old Navy is having a sale.

It’s the kind that starts peeling off on its own after a while. I was wondering if I could speed up the process.

(Time to go shopping, I know.)

Even if you got it off the shirt would probably be distorted and wrinkly where the letters used to be. You can get a new one for a few bucks.

Anything that’s going to act as a solvent for the rubber material is simply going to allow the rubber to *really * embed itself in the fabric. If you can’t scrape it off there are few other easy options.
