In another thread I asked about a DVD backup suite I had giving me problems. After browsing a few links, looks like the SP2 pack is the likely culprit.
So, is there a way to remove it? Or would I have to either do a complete reinstall or a sytem recovery from weeks ago?
It’ll be listed in the Control Panel under Add or Remove programs.
For more detailed instructions (and more if the obvious choice doesn’t help), check out MS article 875350. The order listed there would generally be the preferred order of starting the uninstall of SP2. 10$ says Add/Remove does it for you.
OTOH, I’d try updating your software before removing SP2, as you’ll want SP2 installed at some point.
I’d advise sitting still for now and keep an eye on the DVD software vendor’s website. Unless it’s some fly-by-night shareware/freeware outfit, they won’t be able to ignore SP2 while their competitors are busy selling SP2-compatible applications.
