Well, is it on anymore? I haven’t seen it on Nickelodian for a couple of years and now. That was one of the coolest shows ever.
I never heard of the show before. But Billy West leaves Stern Show says it originated as an MTV cartoon that was eventually cancelled. Nick showed reruns, perhaps? Nick has a Ren and Stimpy page (copyright 2000, so it can’t be out-of-date). There is no mention of when it’s on. A check of their listings turned up nothing.
The original creator of the show, John Kricsfalusi (I’m sure I’ve spelled that one wrong), left the program some years ago when MTV’s stepchild, Nickelodeon, reduced John K.'s artistic control. Supposedly he muttered to a reporter that the Nick execs wanted “Smurfs who fart.” Within a year or two, the show degenerated into irrelevance.
A character from Ren & Stimpy is alive and well, and uncensored again. Check out “The George Liquor Show” at http://www.spumco.com , if you’re into bacon balls.
Sofa King beat me to it. Definitely check out the site. Actually its called “The Goddamn George Liquor Program” and it is hysterical. “Ren and Stimpy” became a bit more risque as the seasons went on and eventually the “Nickle” channel could not abide it, and the artist refused to water down his content. Thats what happens when you get a not so kiddie cartoon on a kiddie channel.
BTW who doesn’t like a good bacon ball every now and then ??
