renewal

No, but that doesn’t really mean anything since I have trouble remembering anything. Hence the belief that I must have been on automatic renewal if I managed to get renewed last year!

OK. It still seems like something must be different than last year tho - if nothing else, it seems like it might be a good idea to tell us when our lapse date is in the email?

If we put this to a vote, I say no, don’t want any reminders.

You just wish to lapse?

Not that I feel it’s that important an issue. But I would prefer to keep track of the renewal on my own, don’t want any reminders.

I got an email reminder last year, on 5/20 (the day the subscription was to expire). Ideally, I’d think a reminder at T minus 5 days, or perhaps a week ahead of time, would be more useful.

For those of us that aren’t averse to a once-a-year email reminder, of course.

It’s vB boilerplate in the message – we have no recurring subscription system, sorry to say, it’s all manual.

You can check your subscription status at any time by clicking on “UserCP,” then “Paid Subscriptions.”

That’s also where you go if you wish to purchase a gift subscription.

I hope you resubscribe.

Go to User CP then Edit Options. Deselect Receive Email from Administrators. (I’m presumng that will work.) Then the rest of us can still get reminders.

I agree that a reminder a week ahead, rather than on the last day, would be better. Maybe I should just renew now.

Remember that you lose nothing by renewing early – you simply keep the existing date pushed forward another year.

**For example, if your subscription is due to expire on 5/20/2011 and you resubscribed for one year today, your new expiration date would be 5/20/2012. **

You can sign up for two years at a time, too.

You lose nothing by resubscribing ahead of time. You lose the fear that your membership will be cancelled. This is especially important if you are a Charter Member – you keep the discount deal but only if you keep the Charter Membership in force.
