Hi, I looked in the FAQ and it said there are “Report” links in various places on the Boards… I have found a thread here http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=515420
that is obviously spam, but I couldn’t find the “Report” button or link. How do I flag this post? It’s a person advertising for a gambling website. Also please forgive me if it was there and I didn’t see the link… I combed through the page as best as I could but may have missed it. Thanks 
Right next to the post number is a little red triangle sign with a red ! in it. Click that, and you’re taken to the report form.
Note that you cannot report your own posts for some reason… unless they’ve changed that… let me see.
Nevermind, they seem to have fixed that.
One thing I like is when a person reporting a thread posts that it’s been reported. I hope that sort of thing cuts down on duplicate reports to the mods.
Yeah, that’s been a big help. Now I see 1-3 emails reporting it, instead of 5-15.
Sure, and that helps, but even so: we’d rather get 15 reports of the same spam post than miss it because everyone thinks someone else reported it.
