I think this is a spam thread. I want to do some good deeds for the board but I don’t know how to report these things.
On the top right of each post, there is a red triangle, kinda like a hazard sign. Click that to report the post. You can add a comment about why you’re reporting it, then you click Submit.

There have been cases where I tried to self-report a thread I wanted closed, and to be sure it took (I’ve been told one can’t do that) I have PM’ed the Mod(s) for the forum. I’m usually down the list for folks reporting spam, though, so I rarely bother. Yours has been reported ny now. You’re right in your assumption AFAIK.
Once upon a time, you couldn’t report your own posts, but we fixed that a while back.
When you see spam, it’s always okay to hit the report button. I would rather have it reported by five people than miss it because everybody else thought someone else reported it already.
The spammers and spambots are getting trickier these days. They often don’t just join and start a new spam thread. They quote something in an existing thread and add a spammy response to it. Those can be tough for us to spot on a casual perusal of a thread, and we depend on you guys reporting it so we can kill it promptly.
If it’s a spam OP, it’s probably worth posting in the thread to say that you’ve reported it, to save other people the bother and/or to save the mods getting swamped with reports about the same problem.
